Coho Salmon Fishing on Beautiful Lake Oroville

Silver salmon fishing has become phenomenal on lake Oroville . Around 150,000 , 10 inch silver salmon also known as cohos are planted every fall around the 1 st of November. By March these fish are around 15 inches and by June up to 20 inches. Fish from the year before are 4 to 5 lbs and reach up to 10 lbs. Peak of the season is from March to July but they can be caught all year. Limits are the rule during the peak of the season. Silver salmon are very scrappy fighters and you simply don’t find better table fare. We use down riggers and very light tackle which makes these fish as fun to catch as they are to eat. All equipment is provided and as always Chinook Guide Service uses top quality equipment. Lake Oroville is the only place in California where silver salmon can be kept at this time. The trip starts early in the morning or at your request and goes to around noon or until limits are obtained. You meet me at the spillway launch or I can pick you up from a house boat upon request. Join me for a fun filled fish catching adventure, you wont be disappointed.
